Spring Sensory Bin for Toddlers

I love sensory play, and I love spring! Here's an easy way to combine the two! Open ended play is a great way to keep toddlers occupied in the cooler Spring days indoors. It's a great way to encourage language skills, fine motor and more! Plus, the cute!

I had fun with this bright and playful bin this time around. I kept it simple and focused on imaginary play. Henry has started to really enjoying pretending with animals, so this bin is perfect for him. While I HATE the messy Easter grass, I'm willing to deal with it for a little while longer. My vacuum just might be getting a little extra use.

Our sensory bin includes:

The felt and paper bunnies and paper baskets were all purchased at a craft store. I've had those eggs for so long I have no clue where they are from. The flower pots were borrowed from our Montessori Inspired Cup and Ball Sorters

So far, Henry has loved just playing with the bin! Of course he immediately dumped it out and got the grass everywhere. But, it kept him busy for a good 30 minutes -- so I call that a win!

Did you make a spring inspired sensory bin? Anyone else hate that grass as much as I do?

hahaa! I can't stand the grass, either - we used it some in our Easter themed works before Easter, and my 2 year old did the only natural thing for a small boy - he yanked every bit of it out and threw it on the floor to get to what he wanted :)

I hate the grass -- I like the paper grass better. I have cats so i'm always afraid they will eat the plastic grass -- so this year when Lennox got some, i threw it away as fast as i could!

Love all your sensory bin ideas!

Cute! I didn't even know that they made paper grass like the commenter before me wrote. I'll bet my little girl would love this. Tweeting!

I love love love your Spring sensory bin! We still have a huge bag of Easter grass that I almost threw away {because I hate it so much}, but now I may give this a shot and see how it goes. Here in Florida, we are fortunate enough to be having a glorious spring and I've thought about doing a planting flowers {outdoor} sensory bin for Soph, soon. You're always so clever!

I absolutely love this! It's easy to forget it's spring when it's four zillion degrees outside (ugh, 98 degrees this afternoon!) but this would be so cute, and a great way to make use of the last of the Easter grass. I love your ideas always!

I love this--and I share your hatred for the grass!! It's seriously so annoying. Thanks for linking up at Tender Moments! Just pinned this idea.
