Montessori Family Summer Bucket List

Now that it is officially summer, it's time for us to start thinking about what we want to do this summer! We made one of these bucket lists in the fall and it was a great way to organize how we were going to use our free time. Otherwise, the seasons just seem to fly by in a flash!

Our Montessori family summer bucket list

Here are some of the Montessori friendly things that our family is hoping to do this summer:

  • Sun art
  • Set up independent outdoor painting
  • Play with water beads
  • Clay stamping with naturally collected materials
  • Independent water table set up
  • Create a permanent digging spot in our yard

  • Visit every playground in our city
  • Grow a successful crop of fruit and veggies (these were thankfully planted in the spring)
  • Sow a fall crop in the late summer
  • Go pick strawberries
  • Go hiking at least once a week
  • Attract a new type of bird to our yard
  • Start a collection of bird feathers
  • Eat outside as much as possible
  • Stay up late and watch for bats in our yard with the kids
  • Drive out of the city at night to look at the stars with the kids

In the Kitchen:

  • Have the children make an entire dinner
  • Drink lots of child made lemonade
  • Teach the kids at least 3 new recipes
  • Independent popsicle making
  • Ice cream sundaes for dinner one night
  • Make a dinner totally from the local farmers market

  • Visit a new museum
  • Visit 3 new libraries (we live in a place where there are tons around)
  • Look at our nature finds under our microscope
  • Explore nocturnal animals
  • Flower arranging work with flowers from our yard and children's garden
We'll see how much we actually do from this list! But, it has me excited for the long, warm days ahead!
