Montessori Friendly Training Pants + Toddler Undies Options

Since beginning Gus' toilet learning/potty training journey, I realized that our collection of toddler undies was in poor shape. After having a couple of children use them over the past few years we were down to just a couple of pairs that would work for Gus. So, I headed to my local store to pick up some new ones. And, sadly I found nothing but commercialized underwear. Every single pair had some sort of superhero, cartoon, princess, or similar product on it. Needless to say, I walked away empty handed.

I shared my disappointment on Instagram and got a ton of great suggestions on where to get Montessori friendly options. I thought I would share a few of these for anyone looking simpler training pants/toddler undies options:

Non-commercialized, Montessori friendly training pants and toddler undies for potty training or toilet learning.
  1. Gerber Training Pants - these are my personal favorite and my go-to for my family. They come in white but also a variety of non-commercial patterns and colors. They also go down to 18 month size.
  2. Tiny Undies - tons of people recommended these, I love the simple color options in really small sizes.
  3. Buy Buy Baby - I don't have personal experience with this brand but they have nice neutral patterns with some color.
  4. Old Navy - Nora has used these for a long time, but they don't have great boy options. These are thinner too but way less expensive
  5. - I've been very happy with the quality of Primary's clothes but haven't tried these. Only downside is they only come in larger sizes.
  6. Under the Nile - These have lots of nice patterns and are also organic, but are more expensive. This brand can also be found as small as 12 months
  7. Burts Bees - these were another popular recommendation and I love that they are also organic.
I personally went with the Gerber again for Gus since it worked so well for Nora and Henry. But, I'm glad there are some great options out there if you are looking for something different without advertising!

What is your favorite brand of training pants/undies for toddlers?

By far the best we found were the Hanna Andersson training unders. They are expensive normally, but they have great sales on them and they are super high quality. We also used the gerber training ones which are fine as a backup and much cheaper.

We're a fan of Pact! Reasonably priced organic 3 pack. Love that they're quality, tagless, and absorbent:
