Shelf Help Ep. 8 - From the ABCs to Swearing

In this Montessori podcast episode we explore language development from a Montessori parenting perspective including a look at popular songs like the ABCs and what to do about swearing.

As a Montessori parent, the language you use with your children matters. Ultimately the decisions you make will effect everything from how your children learn to read, to how comfortable they coming to you as they grow up. In today's episode, Nicole and Amy talk about their do's and don'ts for language development as Montessori parents. This includes why the ABC song is out but swear words are in! Plus Amy has an exciting announcement!

Could you do a podcast on Limits - what boundaries you have in your homes, how you established them, and how you enforce them?

Also, a podcast on observation would be very helpful. How to observe your children at different ages and how to interpret those observations.

Do you have any suggestions on how to explain/discuss/handle Montessori with parents/in-laws/siblings that are not supportive of the method?

I would love a podcast talking about Montessori mathematics philosophy or Montessori potty learning methods! I also would like to hear more about how to explain Montessori to non-accepting family members and how to deal with it, as another commenter suggested!
