Montessori Inspiration from the New IKEA catalogue

I think everyone knows my love for all things IKEA, right? If not, I think IKEA is a great place to get materials that can be used in Montessori environments for a price that won't break the bank. I swear they must have a Montessori consultant - hahah - because so many of their products work so well in a Montessori home. Recently, the new 2019 catalogue was released and I LOVE cuddling up with it for inspiration.

So, I thought I would share a few Montessori friendly new-to-me or new-to-IKEA finds. Here's what spoke to me:

2019 Montessori friendly IKEA finds

1. MELLÖSA picture ledge - I'm obsessed with this clear picture ledge! The acrylic makes it so you can see the whole picture/book/item you put on it and I love that.

2. Nordrana Baskets - who doesn't love a soft basket for a good price? These look nice for organizing toys or other small materials.

3. Godmorgon Storage Organizers - Again, I have a thing for acrylic storage containers, while natural materials are often preferred in Montessori environments, there are just sometimes that you want your child to be able to see inside the container easily.

4. SORTSÖ rug - cheap plain rug, perfect for a work mat at home

5. LILLÅNGEN mirror - Wouldn't this make the perfect little self-care station? Hang it low on a bedroom or bathroom wall and let all the awesome self-care happen!

6. MÖJLIGHET bed linens - These are just fun! I'm actually considering these for Henry's new bedroom. I love the colors without some character or slogan.

7. STRANDMON children's chair - I love the look of this chair, real furniture in kid's sizes is a weakness of mine.

8. KUBBIS rack - hang this low and watch all the coat/towel/robe hanging up happen! Perfect little organizer.

9. MACKAPÄR shoe shelf - I love how flexible these look, I'm actually considering a couple for my garage to organize outdoor art and small toys.

10. TACKAN soap dispenser - Perfect price to give your child their own access to soap (or shampoo, lotion, conditioner!)

11. DYNAN wall shelf - a nice small space organizer, use that wall space where you can!

12. NÖJSAM Baskets - also fun colorful, but small baskets to organize materials. These would be fun for a few toys, or things like lotion/brush/etc in a bathroom.

13. MATVRÅ Recipe Book - I haven't seen too much of the inside of this, but says it's recipes for kids of all ages, I would love some more ideas on how to get working in the kitchen!

Did you look through the new IKEA catalogue? Anything inspire you?

(btw, this post is not at all sponsored, I just really do love IKEA)
