9 Months Old!

9 months! 9 months! How did this happen? Wasn't Henry born, like, yesterday? Henry was born at 39 weeks 5 days gestation, which means as of this Thursday he will have officially been "out" longer than he was "cooking." Crazy! It felt like I was pregnant forever, but his short life has flown by in a flash.

"SO BIG!!"

Clapping!

Henry finally went back to the doctor this month! Which means updated stats! Henry now weighs 19 lbs and is 27.5 inches long. These are both only in the upper 20th percentiles for his age, so he's not that big of a baby. This isn't very surprising to us, since he hasn't really outgrown his clothes/diaper size lately. The doctor isn't concerned about his growth. She said babies height normally comes in spurts...remember when he was in the 80th percentile at 4 months? So he spurted early, and hasn't since. As for weight, she said because he is so active that he burns it off.

More "So Big" - He did this a TON this month. It almost got a little annoying. Haha.

Running behind that little car!
Bedhead!

Speaking of active, Hen is on the move. Last month, I said I thought he would be walking by now. Well, I was wrong. He's not quite there, but he is taking steps on his own. He is up to 4-5 steps on his own now, and getting better every day. He also stands steady on his own, and loves to try to jump while standing up. The biggest thing he is doing now is climbing. He climbs EVERYTHING. His crib, the baby-gate, the pack 'n play. All of it. We've had to lower the crib mattress just so he wouldn't flip out. Its kinda crazy!

Being "shy."
Nothing better than an empty box.

Henry also got his first teeth this month! He got the first one the day after Thanksgiving, and then the next two (on the same day - shoot me) last week. So he now has the two bottom front, and on the top on the right side.

Playing with his trucks - his favorite toys this month.

Climbing.

Getting ready for Christmas.

Hen's favorite thing to do this month are playing with anything on wheels. He loves to push little cars around, or other things that move. He also loves to read touch-and-feel books, spin little knobs, or push little buttons. During the day, he doesn't stop moving. He is constantly going from one thing to the next. He loves the dogs, and will start to scream when they start to bark. Its super cute. This month, Hen learned to give high-fives, which is also awesome.

Yummy.

This month, Hen's reflux really hasn't been an issue! He continues to take his medication and seems to be comfortable. We are working on his sleep, which is still really bad. He pretty much wakes up every 2 or so hours and eats about 4 times a night. Not good. We are also working on this food. He eats 3 solid meals and 1 snack each day. We are moving away from purees, and starting more and more finger-table foods. He now loves to eat on his own. His current favorites are toast, bits of meat, small cut up pieces of fruit, and puffs.

Peaking under the couch at the Christmas lights.

Not interested in taking a picture with me.

His hair has gotten really long.

The other big development is that we got the OK to start him on dairy to see how he does. If he doesn't have a reaction, then I can eat dairy again!! We're going to start with butter, once he gets over a little cold/teething issue he has right now. Hopefully, before Christmas! But I'll keep you updated.

More awesome bedhead.

"Brushing" his teeth.
