39 Weeks!

I'm now 39 weeks and 1 day (again posting on Monday so I could include my doctor's appointment). I can't say I'm particularly thrilled to have made it to this week. But I guess as long as everyone is healthy, I can't complain too much. I've come to the weird realization that life is just in a weird limbo right now. Everyday I wake up and hope that today is the day that I will experience some of the worse pain that I'll ever experience in my life. This is a weird way to live, right?

39 Weeks.
This past week has been fairly uneventful. It was my first full week off of work which I enjoyed. It was nice not to have to go anywhere and just have some time to myself. I spent the week unsuccessfully trying to get labor to start, mostly by taking really long fast paced walks. I also went on a cleaning rampage around the house, and cleaned every surface in every room. So now there is literally NOTHING more I can physically do to prepare for Henry's arrival.

Physically I'm feeling alright. Still having the same aches and pains. My hands (my right in particular) are awful. Three of my fingers are now permanently numb, and the rest go numb with the slightest motion. I never had any idea this happened during pregnancy. Its painful, annoying, and makes it really hard to write or type or even hold a fork. I've also still been having a ton of contractions. They have gotten much stronger, which I guess is good. Over this week I've had two false labor alarms. The first was on Thursday afternoon and evening. I had 6.5 hours of steady contractions. They started at about 6-8 min apart and slowly got to about 3 min apart. Just as I was starting to think it was time, and finished packing the labor bag, the contractions suddenly stopped. The second false alarm was Saturday night. I got strong contractions which started at 10 min apart but got down to 7 min apart for about 2.5 hours before suddenly stopping.Unfortunately my cervix is about the same as it was last week even with all the contractions. But as a first timer my doctor was surprised I had even made it this far already, and said she thought it was likely I would have a baby by next week. So I'll look at that as encouraging and hope something gets started soon.

Notice the belly hanging out of the bottom of the shirt.
Henry is doing well still. He is still very active, and growing every day. I assume he is pretty comfy in there, since he refuses to leave. My doctor says he is super low, and guesses he weights somewhere in the low 7lbs range.

Well I think that's all for now. Hopefully I wont make it to a 40 week/due-date update. But I guess Henry will come when he is ready - I just hope that is really soon!
